I have posted a few raw recipes as well as vegan recipes over the last two years. So I thought it might be a good idea to throw a little wisdom your way regarding raw foods and the mystery behind them. Basically, it works like this:

everything raw = vegan

everything vegan = not always raw

The raw food diet is a vegan and mostly gluten-free diet in which nothing is cooked over 90 degrees farenheit. Some people will argue that the temperature can go up to 116, but most do not go over 90. This means that obviously a microwave or an oven is never an option – but dehydrating things is okay, as long as you don’t exceed the temperature. In order for the human body to absorb and make use of all the beneficial aspects of a fresh fruit, vegetable, nut, and sometimes grain – it is believed that it should be consumed in its most fresh and raw state rather than cooking. I worked in raw foods for almost 2 years, so I’m posting a few of my favorite raw recipes for you to try. They are super easy and worth a shot!

While we have more vegan recipes than raw recipes, vegans can definitely incorporate some of the delicious raw foods in to their diet, you may be surprised by how much better some of these foods can make you feel.
