Vegan Onion Bhaji

This is my favorite thing to order when I go for Indian food.  They are sinfully delicious and suprisingly easy to make! Vegan Onion Bhajis are the perfect accompaniment to any Indian style meal you cook!


  • 4 Ounces
    Gram flour
  • 2
    Medium white onions (Halved and thinly sliced)
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Fresh coriander (chopped)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
  • 1-2
    Chilies (De-seeded and very finely minced)
  • 1
    Pinch salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    Garam masala
  • 120 Millilitres
  • Vegetable oil for frying


  1. Mix everything and add the water last. Add the water slowly, while mixing, and stop adding once you have a thick batter. Deep fry in small batches until golden brown. Set on the rack and let cool slightly. Serve with a vegan dipping sauce or with a wedge of lemon over salad! Enjoy!
